POSITION: Nursing Assistant

FTE: 1.0

DEPARTMENT: Pre and Post-Operative Department

QUALIFICATIONS: BLS Certification

PREFERRED: Registered Nursing Assistant Certification and 1-2 years of nursing assistant experience

Responsibilities: Knows and functions within the assigned pre/post op areas by completing duties and tasks assigned by manager or charge nurse. Performs activities in a timely manner to not cause delays or inconvenience with the department. Seeks assistance with assignments as needed.

Assists with rooming patients in pre-op initiating admission, vital signs, bear hugger implementation, changing clothes, transferring patients to Phase 2, and patient discharge, dressing, and transporting to awaiting car.

Independently follows all cleaning checklists thoroughly and appropriately.

Initiates cleaning and restocking of all patient care and work areas.

Floats readily between all areas providing help as needed.

Obtains nutrition supplies for patient in Phase 2.

Other duties as assigned.
